Erfgoeddag 2009 | Out of friendship!?

The 2009 edition of the annual event 'Erfgoeddag' (Cultural Heritage Day) will take place on Sunday, April 26th 2009. Hundreds of organizations based in Flanders and Brussels join forces to set up a wide range of expositions, lectures, guided tours, culinary discoveries and much more. The central theme of this year's edition is 'Out of friendship!?'.

What is friendship? Anno 2008 the question appears to be somewhat rhetoric. Everyone has friends, has had at least a couple of them or knows a story about true friendship. One who digs deep and tries to find the true meaning of friendship, enters a fascinating and multi-fascetted realm of research. The many layers, complexity and social relevance of friendship throughout history make it a challenging theme for the complete cultural sector.

Erfgoeddag is by far the biggest cultural heritage event in Flanders and Brussels and enables countless organizations to show off. The event attracts more than 200.000 visitors each year. Check out the website for more information about the programme and much more.
